Wednesday, the community lost Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Erik Lloyd. His wife Minddie is the judicial executive assistant to District Court Judge William Kephart. Erik is the father of a beautiful family: two daughters and five grandchildren. Among other professional responsibilities he managed the line-of-duty injury program for Metro. He is remembered as someone was committed to services and who was always there to help others. His loss hits home and leaves a void in our community.

“We in the court are deeply saddened at the loss of Lt. Erik Lloyd who is the husband of our own court employee Minddie Lloyd. We mourn the loss of Lt. Lloyd, a father, grandfather and a committed community servant, whose legacy of helping officers injured or killed in the line of duty and their families is lasting. The passing of Lt. These new CASA volunteers were the first group to complete 30 hours of virtual training. This virtual flex training, which was newly created by National CASA/Guardian ad Litem Association, includes 15 hours of independent online activities and 15 hours of virtually facilitated classroom material.

These CASA volunteers are now assigned to advocate for the best interest of 40 children in foster care.

There is a big need for CASA volunteers in Clark County, to speak up for the approximately 3,200 children in the community, who are receiving services under supervision of Family Court.
